

The Zabzugu District Assembly on Thursday, 11th September, 2025, officially launched its District Sanitation Day Clean-Up Exercise as part of efforts to promote environmental cleanliness and public health in the area.
The programme brought together stakeholders including assembly members, community leaders, youth groups, and staff of the Assembly, who actively participated in the exercise.
In his welcome address, the District Chief Executive (DCE) commended residents for their commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment. He emphasized the Assembly’s determination to make sanitation a collective responsibility and urged the public to fully support the initiative.
Delivering a speech on the purpose of the programme, the District Coordinating Director explained that the Sanitation Day initiative is aimed at instilling discipline in waste management, improving hygiene practices, and enhancing the overall environmental outlook of the district. He added that the exercise will be sustained to complement the government’s broader agenda on sanitation.
