

The Zabzugu District Assembly yesterday held a successful public hearing on its Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) at the Assembly’s Conference Hall. The event brought together key stakeholders, development partners, traditional leaders, civil society, and community representatives to deliberate on the district’s development priorities for the coming years.
In his opening remarks, the Hon. District Chief Executive (DCE) reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to inclusive development and urged all stakeholders to actively contribute to the planning process. He emphasized that the MTDP serves as a roadmap to guide the district’s socio-economic growth and improve the well-being of citizens.
The District Coordinating Director highlighted the importance of collaboration among departments and partners to ensure that the plan is realistic, achievable, and responsive to community needs.
The District Planning Officer gave a detailed presentation on the draft development plan, outlining key focus areas such as education, health, infrastructure, agriculture, youth empowerment, and social protection.
Development partners and stakeholders also shared their perspectives. The World Vision Manager commended the Assembly for its participatory approach and pledged continued support for child-focused and community development initiatives. The Youth Empowerment Officer stressed the need to prioritize skills development and job creation for the youth. The SEND Ghana Officer underscored the importance of accountability, inclusiveness, and citizen participation in local governance.
The event was highly interactive, with participants making valuable inputs and recommendations that will be factored into the final draft of the MTDP.
